[BS6] Characterization to manipulation in nano technology
- Sungsu Park (Sungkyunkwan University, Korea)
- Donghwan Kim (Sungkyunkwan University)
Description
This session will cover a broad ranges of physical phenomenas in nano-scale, which deals with the manipulation and characterization of matters on the nanoscopic length scale. Physics at the nanoscale is not limited to physics, but through convergence with various fields such as chemistry, biology, material, and mechanical engineering, we will discusse the principles of new phenomena occurring in nano-scale matters.
This session will probide a multidisciplinary approach to state-of-the-art applications of nano-technology including a wide range of application areas, basic science, as well as its innovative applications in physics.
- Nano fabrications
- Microscopic characterization
- Optical characterization in nano-scale
- X-ray, Raman, other optical methods
Recent waves of COVID-19 correlate with the emergence of the Delta and the Omicron variant. In this study, we combined high-speed atomic force microscopy with single molecule recognition force spectroscopy to investigate, at single molecule resolution, the interaction dynamics of trimeric Spike with its essential entry receptor ACE2. We report that the Spike trimer undergoes rapid...
Over the past two decades, circulating biomarkers (CBs) including circulating tumor cells (CTCs), exosomes, ctDNA and etc. have been widely recognized for their importance in clinical trials. Recent advances in microfluidic approaches have made it possible to enrich CTCs and form circulating tumor cell (CTC)–neutrophil clusters which are highly potent precursors of cancer metastasis. Our novel...
New SARS-CoV-2 variants are continuously emerging with critical implications for therapies or vaccinations. The 22 N-glycan sites of the Spike protein remain highly conserved among SARS-CoV-2 variants, opening an avenue for robust therapeutic intervention. By using a nanomechanical force-sensing approach, we obtained real-time information about the molecular bonds involved in the binding of...
