Description
A cold roll-bonding (CRB) process is applied to study the mechanical properties of the roll-bonded multi-layer Al sheets. The various commercial Al sheets with a thickness of 2 mm are stacked alternately to each other from two to four layers, and roll-bonded by multi-pass cold rolling. The roll-bonded Al sheets are then conducted by annealing and/or age treatment. The as roll-bonded Al sheets show a typical deformation structure that the grains are elongated to the rolling direction regardless of the stacking number. The layered sheets show the inhomogeneous hardness distribution in thickness direction. In addition, the mechanical properties such as tensile strength and elongation of the layered Al sheets are investigated in detail.
